Spring time?

We are patiently waiting for spring to come.  The kids love playing outside, riding their bikes and trikes.  Sebastian is pretty excited about his big bike that he got from his cousin Mckenna and John and Cate continue to fight over the same trike even though we have about 6 different trikes sitting in the garage!

Sebastian continues to enjoy preschool and he is doing remarkably well.  We are so proud of him.  I was very nervous about sending him to preschool about a month after we came home but I am so glad we did.  He is a very bright kid (I wish I could take credit for that!!).  I can tell he is maturing a lot, he is helping me out a lot with John and Cate.  He does not like to see them sad, so he is always there comforting them whether it is singing a song or giving them a hug.  It is really fun to see.

John is still our little love bug.  He is full of hugs and kisses.  He tries very hard to listen (haha) but sometimes it just doesn't work out!  He really likes to test boundaries but that seems to be getting better because he is finally realizing that mom is serious and there will be consequences.  He also enjoys his "school".  We call his speech therapy, school.  He has progressed a lot since we started in November.  Sometimes it doesn't seem like we do much more than play like we do at home when we are there but Allison (his speech therapist), has a way of engaging him and getting him to talk!  We absolutely love her and just found out last week that her position is being eliminated so he will have another therapist next year.  We will definitely miss her but John seems to do well with anyone.  John continues to battle with the parasites, but after another visit to the U of M last week, we hope to be getting his stomach issues under control very soon.  On another health note, we made a visit to see the neurologist at the end of February and everything looks great!  I am still nervous for the summer as he should be wearing his helmet but when the weather gets warm, I am not sure that will be an easy sell!

Cate is definitely a two year old!  She has the attitude to support that, but we love it (most of the time!).  She really thinks she rules the house and most of the time she is right!  The boys usually give into her since they don't want to deal with the backlash she hands out.  Rhett seems to think I give into her more than I should too, but like the boys, I don't always want to deal with the backlash!!  She is talking a ton, most of the time telling the rest of us what she wants or what she wants us to do!  We recently took down her crib and moved her into a big girl bed and much to our surprise, she did great!  She has not tried to get out of bed on her own which is surprising since she crawls up and down everything else in the house including both boys beds.  Cate too made a visit to the U of M last week and I just received the call today that the parasites are GONE!!!  That is such a good feeling.  But, she now tested positive for H. pylori which is a bacteria in the lining of the stomach which can cause ulcers.  So, we will be treating that for the next 2 weeks!  We are hoping and praying that the antibiotics take care of that and she can start being medicine and pain free!

The kids had a great first Easter here which included an Easter egg hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Meyer's.  It was funny how at Christmas time, they really did not understand the whole concept of Santa coming but in just 4 short months, they have been completely Americanized and enjoyed their little goodies from the Easter bunny.

Happy Easter!!
 "Best Brothers" as Sebastian says.
