Within the past couple of weeks, I have really noticed she is becoming a typical 2 year old. She will want me to carry her or hold her ALL day long while we are at home, but the minute we leave the house to bring Sebastian to school or go to ECFE or really anyplace outside the house, she needs to walk on her own. Yeah, that is all fine but Sebastian's school is in the basement of a church and there are ALOT of steps, so we usually hold up a long line of people with all of the steps she needs to take by herself with her short legs! Luckily, all of the parents understand because they have all been there!
I have mentioned it in previous posts, but she continues to develop at a rapid rate. Her vocabulary is expanding and Rhett and I really have to watch what we say...not like 8 short months ago when we could say anything because none of them understood any English! She repeats a lot and understands everything. I am amazed at how much she actually understands. The other day, I told John that him and I were going to go see the doctor after I went to pick Sebastian up from school. When I came home about 45 minutes later, she greeted me at the door with her coat and shoes! She was not real happy when I left without her.
About a month ago we had a major breakthrough, she is finally letting us lay her in her crib without rocking her and she puts herself to sleep AND she is sleeping through the night!!! Prior to that, she would wake up 3, 4, sometimes even 5 times a night and we would have to rock her back to sleep. She is also sleeping in most mornings. There were a few mornings, where I went into her room at 10:00am to wake her up so she wouldn't mess up the nap time I need her to take!! :) I think she is finally starting to get her napping routine down too...she used to sleep for 45 minutes and then sleep on me for another 1-2 hours, now she is starting (not perfected yet!) to sleep about 1-1/2 hours! Yeah!
I just sit and watch her all day, from the things she says to the things she does, she is a little spit-fire! She has a completely different personality than back in June. She was so quiet and didn't really do much, now she tells everyone what to do and how to do it!! She is not afraid to give the boys a good push if she doesn't like what they are doing. It is really hard for me to discipline her when she does that because I have a big grin on my face!
I could go on and on with how she makes us laugh but bottom line is she is our special little girl and we all love her soooo much, I actually think she is getting tired of me kissing those chubby little cheeks ALL the time!
