Los Posingos visit

The boys and their Duke hats!! They are already Duke fans!! It is going to be a fun basketball season for mama and her boys!!
They put them on by themselves like this, it must be a "guy thing"!
Watchin' a movie on the computer this morning!

Today we had a pretty good day except Cate and I (Holly) woke up with major stomach issues. I am doing ok as long as I am somewhat close to a bathroom and not eating too much. Cate on the other hand has had 4 baths and who knows how many outfits she has gone through today. She has really been our perky one until today. She fell asleep tonight within about 5 minutes so I know she is not feeling well!!! :)
Rhett and I visited the orphanage today. Cecilia, our rep, said it would be best to keep the kids at the hotel. We thought we would be able to tour the orphanage but instead they gave us a dvd video tour of the orphanage that we could take with us. We also got a book talking about the history of the orphanage. They also gave us a couple dvd's that on the front says "Our memories of Los Posingos" for all 3 of the kids. I am really excited to watch that. Rhett and I talked that we are going to wait till we get back to MN to watch those with the children. We are making great strides and we just don't know how they will react to them.
In our meeting, we talked to Carlos about their eating habits and how John freaks out if he drops food on the floor or if we even touch his spoon. We were told that when they eat, there are generally 8 children sitting around a table and one kid may take from another and then the staff member may discipline that child and that is probably what they are relating too. How sad, but he said we should just keep telling them that we will not take their food away and they are just trying to gain our trust right now. I feel really good about our meeting with him. I have been a little nervous about disciplining the boys because I want them to bond with us and not think we are "mean", but Carlos said we definitely need to set family rules and Rhett and I need to be consistent with our discipline. This will be very important since Rhett is leaving here on Tues., so that when we get home, he knows how I have been handling everything.
We also talked about Sebastian's surgery. He is going to have tubes put in either next Tues. or Thurs. Carlos asked me if I wanted to go with to the hospital and I thought "of course I do" but he looked at me shaking his head no!! He is funny. There is a nurse at the orphanage that is all she does is takes the children to doctor visits and she is fabulous. We talked to her for a bit today. So, the way it sounds, she will come to our hotel, pick up Sebastian, take him to the hospital and be with him the whole time and then bring him back here. I know, that sounds awful but according to Carlos, he truly believes that is what is best for Sebastian. So, I am going to be ok with that. Also, that way, he does not associate me with the surgery. So, I will post when we know for sure when his surgery will be and to keep him in your prayers that all goes well.
Lastly, yesterday Cecilia mentioned that our attorney is known for moving cases through court pretty fast (don't remember if I mentioned that in yesterdays post or not) and then today when we were meeting with Carlos he too mentioned that we have an attorney who visits the courts every day and asks where we are at because as he puts it in his broken English "the family has 3 children and they need to get them home, it is too hard to live in a small space in Colombia". Carlos said the last case this attorney had took 2 weeks. We have been trying not to get our hopes us because we have found out down here anything can happen, no case is the same, but we have hope and faith that it will work out. So, if you have any extra prayers for us, we would appreciate them! I feel like I am asking for a lot of prayers but that is what has gotten us this far! There is a family down here right now that is going on week #9 and they are not sure when they will be getting Sentencia. Apparently, they got a terrible judge that just does not want to sign off on their case. It is so hard to watch, they are trying to stay positive, but they just want to get home.
So as our Thursday comes to an end, we hope you are all doing well, we miss all of you!
Holly and the gang!

So glad you got to go to LP today and ask some questions! Carlos sure seems like a geat guy--everyone has wonderful things to say about him!
LOVE the pics tonight! Forget basketball season for now...those boys need to get home and go to a Twins game!! So darn cute!
Holly--hope you and Cate wake up feeling better tomorrow! What a bummer! If you are feeling better, it might be a fun day to venture to Crepes and Waffles for some ice cream!!! They have wonderful food and ice cream and it would just be a short walk for youg guys! Lauren would recommend the "gummy" sundae! :0)
We'll say an extra prayer tonight that your attorney really can whip you through the courts! Anything is possible in Colombia! :0)
Hugs from MN!!!

Sorry to hear about the stomach issues. Ugh. No fun, especially away from home. Hoping tomorrow is a new day for both of you!

Jake has had tubes 4 times, and it is a very simple procedure. Here it literally takes them about 5 minutes to put them under and insert the tubes. They are awake before you know it, and running around by the end of the day! Always surprises me! Such a huge help for those poor little ears too.

We will definitely say a prayer that your lawyer keeps pushing things through. And then, we will hope for that same lawyer when we get there! :) Cecilia and all will take such good care of you. Keep up your positive attitude and continue to enjoy each day with those sweeties.
