Grandma Meyer arrived on Saturday night. I went with the driver to pick her up at about 10:00pm. She was delayed out of Atlanta, but she made it through immigration/customs, no problem. She was befriended by a young guy who spoke both Spanish and English. I was so happy to see her face, since it had been a couple of weeks and also since she does not know any Spanish!!
We had a wonderful day on Sunday. We got up and grandma was eager to meet the kids. They all took to her wonderfully. She brought cars and a telephone for Cate. Grandma has more energy than mama and papa right now so she was a welcome relief for us too! We went to church in the morning and then we walked to LaFontana Hotel to check out some of the markets. After that we walked around the mall a little bit and found a place to get Cate's ears pierced. They are soooo cute and there was a little crying but not as much as I thought there would be. She does not even know they are there. She has not touched her ears at all. Whew, I always wanted to get my daughter's ears pierced and it all went well. We got back to the hotel, had lunch, the boys and Cate took a nap and my mom and I went to Hacienda Santa Barbara for a short time. When we got back, the kids and Rhett were up and we took everyone for a long walk and stopped at the park. We were originally told John did not have good coordination, well, he was able to climb a rope ladder, pretty much all by himself. I think he is fine!!!!!! We got back to the hotel, had dinner and we all sat down and watch a video and then it was time for bed. Once the kids were in bed, we did our usual skyping and watched a little tv.
At about 10:00pm, the Kopka's arrived at the hotel. It was so fun to see them and chat for a little while. They had a long day of travel so we all headed for bed around 10:30.
We got up this morning, had breakfast and then at 9:30, Rhett, my mom and I went to meet Freddie the Jeweler. I ended up getting a ring with 3 emeralds (one for each kid) and some diamonds (for me!!) (Mary, I dropped some dinero for you!!) I will take care of wearing the ring now and then when Cate is old enough, I will give it to her.
The boys are now sleeping, Cate decided she would load her pants and then not go back down to take a nap, so I am hoping she will be excited for bed tonight!! Once the boys get up, we will probably make a quick trip to the park with the Kopka's.
Tomorrow, Sebastian and I are being picked up at 8:15am for him to have tubes put in his ears. I pray that all goes well and we do not go backwards with him. All of the kids are doing really well!
Thank you for all of your kind words and prayers!
Holly
