Going good!

Well, for me to be able to post midday, things must be going well. We have been very busy the past 2 days. Our days go by very fast. The kids and Rhett are all napping right now. Cate was being a little stinker again, the only way she wants to fall asleep is for me to hold her. Not a habit I want to get into but I know that is helping in the attachment process. It is really hard to know what to do, I want her to attach but I don't want her to have to be held by me everytime it is naptime. I know it is early and so I am still giving in a little bit. Although, I will have her limp as a noodle in my arms and the minute I lay her down, those big brown eyes stare me down and the howling begins. This afternoon's nap was especially difficult, I think we tried that process 3 times, finally, I just laid her on her back, rubbed her head and hummed to her. That seemed to do the trick.

It seems that the boys stomach issues are clearing up nicely...no blowouts today, or should I say no blowouts YET today!!

One thing we are really watching is all of their eating. I have no idea if they had to finish everything that was on their plate at the orphanage or if they are really good eaters. I know they are really good eaters, but when we visit the orphanage later during our stay we will be asking them. We have to watch all three but especially Sebastian and Cate, they will eat as long as they are offered food. I know that is why we had the problem on Wed. with Sebastian. His poor little tummy could not handle all of that food. And Cate, well she eats like a champ and the minute we take her plate away, we better be ready to take her out of her highchair because she starts crying and today she put her head down on the highchair tray.

As far as sleeping, they all do very well. Last night was a little bit later that they got to bed because they were playing so nice and they take really good naps. We try to get them to bed around 7:30/8:00 as that is what they are used to. This morning John woke up at 7:45 and I needed to make noise to wake the other 2 up around 8:30 because we need to get to breakfast before 9:00. They will still feed us but the staff here works so hard and so we would like to keep to their schedule.

Speaking of staff, how wonderful they are. Sebastian and John need to be on quite a few things right now with their ears and allergy type stuff so I have been relying on the staff here to help me. All of the medications come in Spanish and so we can translate them on the computer but I still want to verify with. Also, John is a champ at taking everything, Sebastian has problems with the nose spray and the ear drops. More or less the 2 main things he is on. I am really praying that once he gets tubes, he will be able to handle it like John.

Gotta run, John just got up. We are in pretty tight quarters here and the family that is staying in the room next to us were just trying to get 2 of their 3 kids to sleep and the wailing woke him up. So, he is sitting on my lap now, again being very cooperative but we will be heading downstairs to play a bit.

Pictures to come tonight!

Loving the "visual" of the poop geyser! Truly, moms talk about poop more than anything else! I have posted more about poop on my facebook page than anything else! Crazy. Hopefully you can get some of the health issues figured out soon. It's so hard when they are hurting like that. Ear pain, especially, can be so very difficult. Especially when they lay down for naps or night! Tylenol can work wonders! Thanks for sharing this journey. It is so wonderful to read this each day and get a feel for how things are going. It brings so many wonderful memories back! We are definitely going to need to do another Colombian gathering once you all come back home. Seriously, the kids are adorable! How can you stand it?!!! So true about adoption vs biological. Not something you could ever explain to anyone who hasn't been through it, but the love is just as instantaneous at presentation as it is at birth! So happy for you all!!!!!
