We had a wonderful day today! The kids are like new little people. I think we are finally figuring them out and they are figuring us out. Plus, they all seem healthy right now! Life is good! Sebastian has probably made the biggest improvement and therefore John has come out of his shell as well because whatever Sebastian does, so does John. It was really neat today to see them interact with Cate as well. Prior to today, they really didn't do a lot of interacting with her. We are hoping we have turned the corner. We know we are going to continue to have meltdowns, but we are finally figuring out how to handle them. John and Cate are the easiest to get out of their funk, so far. Sebastian, probably because he is older, he tends to hang onto it a little longer.
There is a really cute church a few blocks away from where we are staying so we ventured out to mass today. Honestly, I was so nervous. We get looks just walking the streets, you should have seen the looks at church. We were early enough that we got the back pew and the kids were great. Cate sat by me the whole time and I only had to shish her a couple of times, John sat by Rhett and fell asleep and Sebastian sat between us and was a little angel. He might have been shell-shocked. I don't think he had a clue what was going on...well, I know he didn't. Quite honestly, I didn't really either. The mass of course was in Spanish, so I didn't really pick anything up but when it was time for the congregation to respond, you could kind of figure it out.
We did a lot of playing with the kids today, I think that is what they needed vs. us venturing out. They love interacting with us. We did some coloring, set puzzles and counted the pieces as Sebastian put them in their places. It is amazing how they are picking up our English after just a week. We are pointing at everything as we say it in English. Sebastian is doing really well with that. With how he is doing now, I know once we get home and they interact with other kids and is only around English speaking people, they will all do well.
We have been able to Skype with family while here and the kids are really starting to enjoy that. We say, "Should we go talk to abuela and abuelo?" and they just light up. Abuela=grandma, Abuelo=grandpa.
The battery on our camera went dead tonight so it won't even let me download pictures and Rhett has the charger under Cate's crib and I am not going to risk waking her...I am too tired. Pictures will be posted tomorrow!
Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes, we can definitely feel them here in Colombia!!

I am so anxious every night when there is a new post. Thanks for keeping in touch with us all. Sounds like they are typical kids testing their Mom & Dad. It will be fun once they meet their cousins. Take Care. Amy, Dean & Girls
Yeah!!! So happy you had a great day yesterday...with many more to come!! It's great that they have been in touch with Grandma and Grandpa already so when your Mom arrives, they will be familiar with her already!
Sounds like they were little troopers in church today! Any change they could give Ben some tips?? Ugh, it's still a battle with him some days! :0)
Can't wait to see the latest pics! Oh, and YEAH for everyone feeling better!!! Any updates on Sebastian's surgery?
Here's to another great day in Bogota!!! :0)

Sounds like everything is on the right track for you - that is GREAT - you two are doing awesome and the kids are amazing. I just noticed that my previous posts are not working unless I sign in under the flower account - which is my sister's name - so - will continue to do that. Read your blog everymorning with my tea - LOVE IT!! and yes, I usually cry every morning :)
keeping you in my prayers

You guys sound like parenting pros! I would guess that when you are outnumbered, you have to be that way! Or appear that way to them anyway! :) Really, it is so much fun to read about your adventures, and to see pictures of how much the kids are opening up and showing their personalities. Amazing how well you all fit as a family, isn't it? You are doing an amazing job with them!
We are about 95% packed up and ready to get down there. I know I keep saying it, but we really cannot wait!
Enjoy the day!
