Birthday and Surgery

This week we will experience both ends of the spectrum.  Today we celebrated Sebastian's 4th birthday.  Tomorrow is his actual "golden" birthday but we had to celebrate today since our little John will be having surgery tomorrow.  Once again, I thought I would try a birthday cake but Sebastian is just not a fan of cake.  We are so thankful for our Sebastian.  He sure brings excitement to our family.  His smile can light up a room.

Now to John...when he was 10 months old, he had a skull fracture that did not heal like "normal" skull fractures heal.  So, now we will need to surgically heal him.  We took him to the neurologist last Wednesday to review the MRI and we are blessed to have the chief neurologist at the U on his case.  He asked us when we would like to have the surgery done and since we have been having him live in a bubble, we thought the sooner the better.  Well, the doctor took that as less than a week.  So, he had the entire schedule of the operating room moved around and we will be at the hospital tomorrow morning at 5:30am for a 7:30 surgery.  We know this has to be done so we have faith that we have him in the best hands possible.  We appreciate all of you that are offering your prayers for John.

My goal is to update the blog tomorrow once we know more after the surgery, provided I have computer access at the hospital.  I will be staying with him as long as he is in the hospital.
