Busy, Busy!!

We have had a very busy last couple of days. On Tuesday, I went with the driver to pick up Sebastian and John's birth certificates. Thankfully, everything was ready and we did not have to wait the 3 business days for John's like they originally told us.

Then, this morning at 8:30, our driver and Cecilia picked us up to go get the kids passports. Once again, Cecilia is amazing! We went to the front of every line and she seems to know the name of every person we need to deal with. So, within about an hour and a half we had 3 Colombian passports in hand and were on our way back to the hotel by about 10:45.

At 11:45, we headed out with the Kopkas, Melcher's (another new LSS family) and Herman (our driver) to have pizza at Azurro's. It was so wonderful, first of all to get our for lunch, we hadn't tried that yet and then to have pizza. My stomach is still paying for it, but it sure was good! Herman, myself, my mom and the kids walked back a little early from lunch so the kids could get an hour nap in. We had our Embassy doctor visit at 3:30, so we were back on the road again at 3:00. We got back to the hotel at 5:30 for dinner at 6:30 and then got the kids baths and now they are all tucked in and preparing for another busy day tomorrow at the US Embassy for their visas.

We are thinking we could head out of here as early as Friday night but now, we are having trouble getting a flight! Go figure! I have Rhett working on that back in MN as I am out of energy for dealing with more paperwork! We are nearing the end of the piles of paperwork and running from one office to the next and it feels really good!

The kids were all such troopers today as we scooted them from place to place and I think they will sleep really well tonight, as will I.

We also achieved a milestone today...Cate took 4 steps on her own!!! I think she should be going full throttle within a week! Look out, she gets around pretty good right now just hanging onto stuff but at least that way I can predict her route. Once she is free of tables, chairs or walls, who knows what will happen. But, she is almost 17 months so it is high time she starts walking! We have taken her brace off of her more so she can at least move around. In talking with the doctors here and some of her medical reports, it doesn't sound like that brace was an absolute necessity. So, to get her caught up we are letting her run free of it for awhile! We might have to put it back on her in the airplane to keep her immobile!! Just kidding!

That is all for today, we are really excited to be this far and are so excited to be planning our return flight to MN!!!

Yeah--so great to hear that things are progressing! I have been wondering how they were going! You are certainly on the home stretch now! Hope Rhett can get things rigged up with flights!! It's about time he started to do something!! Ha! JK, Rhett! :0)
Glad you got to Azzuros...love that place!
Happy to hear that Cate is mobile and getting around! I think they go a little overboard with the braces there...they said Lauren would need one too and she was fine when we got home.
Have a great night!
