Botanical Gardens and 4th of July

Everyone says Cate looks like her mama and grandma, she sure has our love for sweets. We had Oreo cookies for dessert.

We have had a wonderful couple of days. On Saturday we went with the Kopka's to the Botanical Gardens. It was very nice to get out of the polluted Bogota air and take in some nice clean air. The boys were able to run around and blow off some steam. I put long sleeve shirts on them and they were pretty sweaty by the time they were done. The Colombian people like to see their children wearing many clothes and hats. It is amazing to see people wearing winter jackets with the fur hoods around here and it is always about 65-70 degrees. I think it actually feels warmer but the could just be because I am carrying Cate around in the baby bjorn!!

Today the kids slept till about 7:45, who knows how long they would have slept if I didn't get up and start making noise for them to wake up. I always swore I would never wake a sleeping baby, but it is impossible to get them to bed at night if they sleep too much during the day. We then ventured off to church, the kids once again did great! After church we went to the markets and got back to the hotel around 1:30, just in time for a late lunch and then nap time. For some reason, none of the kids were interested in taking long naps today, but that is ok as they are all sleeping now!
