Next, we are off to South Bogota...one word....WOW! We drove through very bad parts, to the point of our rep saying she has never seen anything like it. Made me a little nervous knowing how much cash I was carrying with me. But, we finally made it there after asking for directions a couple of times. And in typical Cecilia fashion, we just budge to the front of the line like we own the place, only to find out they don't have "lights" (as Cecilia would say) or electricity as we know it!! She is so dang cute! So, they tell us to come back tomorrow morning at 8:00am. As we are heading back to our driver's car, Cecilia starts to open the door of another car thinking it was our driver...I immediately slam the door shut...if you would have seen the neighborhood we were in, you would understand. Meanwhile, our driver was honking at her so she didn't go into that car. Then, Cecilia decided she wanted to get the phone number of the place so she could keep tabs on when they got "lights" again. I was dropped off at our hotel at 1:00 and at 2:00, Cecilia called saying the driver was on his way to pick me up to try again. We ended up getting done what we needed.
So, tomorrow at 1:00, I am off with our driver to pick up whatever birth certificates are available. Hopefully each and every one of them!!
There is a lot of paperwork still to do and with the birth certificates taking 2 full days, we MAY be delayed in getting out of here till next week but we don't know for sure yet!
On to a more fun or should I say funny subject. We decided it was time for the boys first haircut by grandma! Mom and I laughed pretty hard. For Sebastian, we started with a #2 and it didn't really do much, so I said, "Oh, let's try a #1". That is when the laughing began...it looked pretty short until we got it all cut. Then, it was on to John...we were a little bit nervous to do his because he has been like a firecracker lately...just not knowing when he might explode. He has been pushing boundaries at every turn lately. Surprisingly, he did really well. He sat there like a little champ...just like Sebastian. Mom and I decided, they must have used clippers in the orphanage because they did not move while she was cutting.
"Really mom, do you need to take a picture of this?"
On a serious note, tomorrow (Tuesday) is the funeral for my uncle Roger. Mom and I are keeping him and his family in our prayers. We wish we could be there, but we will make up for lost time when we return home.
Time for us to get to bed, we have another big day tomorrow...they all are big from here on out!

Holly-I love your stories with Cecilia because I can just picture the whole deal! It's always an adventure with her and yet you always land on your feet! She's the best! :0)
The boys look so handsome with their new "dos"!! You guys are brave! Love the pics of Cate in the morning too--what a riot!
Hope all goes well today!!! We'll keep the positive thoughts and prayers flowing your way!

Oh my gosh, you guys, we are laughing so hard at the pictures of Cate! You have to bring her out one morning for the ladies here to have a good laugh--and for us for that matter! That must be one rough night of sleep! Cute cute cute kids!
Loving the hair escapades. Seriously, John and Sebastion's buzz cut is PERFECT for them. And, who needs to spend $15-$20 when Grandma Betty is around or just a plain old razor. Cate's bed hair is hilarious....I don't know about you but when my little monkey wakes up with that "do," it was not so fun to comb out. Hope that is not the case for Cate!
Sounds like you guys continue to make light of all situations, which is a GREAT attitude to have for you and the kids. Keep hanging in there! You've come this far, not it's only a matter of clearing up the formalities. It's coming to a near end, the light is at the end of the tunnel. We are ALL pulling for you! Keep up that Meyer fiery mentality, things will happen!
PS: Claire is very excited to meet her new playmates :)

Oh, that Cecilia! Gotta love her. You help give such great visuals of her. Miss her so!! She really is amazing, and can pull amazing stunts! She saved us several extra days in Colombia because of her talents!
Wow, what hair! That is incredible! Is she a wild sleeper?
Good luck with all these last steps that need to get done for your to come home!
