Sebastian recovering from surgery.

John being John...(probably loading his pants!!)

Our day ended up going pretty good. This morning we got up and once again had to hang out in the room until Sebastian was supposed to be picked up at 9:30am. Well a little after 9:30, I went downstairs to have one of the staff call Cecilia because there was no one to pick him up yet. It was our 2nd morning of holding off breakfast until Sebastian was out the door because of course he could not eat before surgery and if he saw the other kids eating, that would not go over so well. So, at about 9:45, I was told someone was on their way to pick him up. From what I understood, they were sending the L.P. van. So, it got to be 10:00...10:30, still no van. Finally at 10:45, a nurse from L.P. showed up in a flippin' taxi. I almost died! Carlos the director of L.P. said it would be best for Sebastian to go with the nurse and for me to stay at the hotel. Let me tell you, that was about the worst feeling I have ever had. It was even worse than seeing his reaction to the orphanage the day before. At least there I could hold him and tell him I was not going to leave him. So, we crossed that bridge, now it was a waiting game. At 2:00, I decided I needed to call Cecilia to see if she had heard anything. She called me right back and said the surgery "went well" and we could expect him between 4:00 and 5:00. You guessed it, 5:00 came and Cecilia called me to see if he was back (she is sooo wonderful) and he wasn't, so she called to check again. She was told he was just released from the hospital and would be back around 6:00. Again, we have absolutely no details on the surgery...so I was pretty nervous and very excited to see him. Everytime the door buzzer rang here at the hotel, I was either standing there or peaking to see if it was him. Finally, a little after 6:00, I saw our little man. I was so happy to see him. He looked tired but looked like he was doing well. He ended up getting tubes in his ears AND his tonsils removed!! Not expecting the tonsils...we were originally told before we got down here that he would have his adenoids removed. So, I still don't know a lot, hope to get the medical report soon! He was definitely being a mama baby tonight, which was fine. He fell asleep right away tonight, so hopefully he wakes up tomorrow ready to go. We have to make sure he sticks to cold liquids tomorrow...so we will run to the grocery store and pick up some popsicles or whatever they have here in Colombia that is similar. Lucky boy, got ice cream for dinner!!
As far as John and Cate, they did well today. Cate is a mama baby and John is really loving grandma. So, we decided to switch it up today and I took John and my mom took Cate. They both gave each of us some attitude but we stuck to our guns and the day went well. These kids are so resilient, even if we have to discipline (ie. John!!), they act out a little bit but then they get all cuddly!
Nothing else new here, we are all very thankful that Sebastian did so well and are very excited to have that done!!
Thanks for all your prayers for our court process and also for Sebastian. They were obviously answered for Sebastian's procedure and we know in time they will be for our case as well!
Love from Bogota,
Holly, Sebastian, John, Cate and Grandma Betty!

Hey Gang,
All I can say…..I think those little monkeys are getting cuter. Don’t know how it’s possible, but they are. And, the family picture is Christmas card worthy. What a very special picture that is. So because of your adorable family and stories…..I can't go to sleep without checkin' in on all of you on my little phone. You are part of my bedtime routine. It's an obsession! I don't ever watch tv any more because of my own crazy family, but you guys are my entertainment. I don't know what I am going to do when you stop blogging (well, probably get some much needed sleep :) ). It's the Vettle Reality Show. You make me laugh, cry, etc.... When I am reading, it’s like you are right there sharing with me….love it!
I know you have your ups and downs, and some days are harder than others. I am so sorry Rhett had to leave. I know it makes it that much harder, but Grandma Betty is the BEST! (what would we do without our parents?!?!?) She's great for ALL of you! Keep pulling from her energy and strength.
Just remember when you are going through a rough patch - go look at those 3 beautiful little miracles and that's what it's all for!!! You've come SOOO FAR and waited SOOO LONG! We are praying and thinking of you ALL the time. My heart truly goes out to you. Keep asking for strength and patience. You are in the final stretch of the 9th inning. It's almost over....keep hangin' in there. Holly Meyer Vettle LOVES a challenge, isn’t that right little lady?!?!? :) No one is tougher than you....believe in that!
Love ya lots! All my thoughts and prayers are being sent your way. I won't stop until that plane hits MN ground! I am on pins and needles until I know you are all safe and sound HOME.

Just realized (after I hit the publish button of course.) I spelled your last name wrong...you probably noticed too. AHHHHHH.....I truly need sleep. SOOO sorry guys! FORGIVE, FORGIVE :)
